ジャン＝ポール・エヴァンのガレット・デ・ロワを土産に、ささやかな誕生日祝い。
案内してくれたスタッフさんも、奇遇すぎることに今日が誕生日だとか。
おめでとうございます。^^
ガレット・デ・ロワは「王様のお菓子」という意味で、フランスの新年を祝う伝統的なパイ菓子。上には紙の王冠、中にはアーモンドクリームと、フェーヴと呼ばれる陶製の人形やボタンが１つ入っていて、「アタリ」のパイを食べた人は王冠を被り、その日は一日王様として祝福され、一年間を幸せに過ごすことができるといわれているそうです。
本来はキリスト教の公現節（１月６日）に食べるそうなので、ちとフライング。
「パイがとってもサクサクしていて、中のクリームも濃厚でコクがあって、それがショコラの風味とよく合っていて、とってもトレトレボンです^^」とは誰も言っていませんが、とっても喜んでもらえた模様。
フランス人は、これを食べないと一年が始まらないらしい。
日本でいう鏡餅みたいなところか？いや、何か比較に無理がある…。
フェーヴは食べたら大変ということで入っていませんが、王冠と一緒に添えてくれます。
JPHでは11日までの取扱いとのこと。
